"I don't try to explain to people why I ride a Motorcycle.
For those who understand no explanation is needed!
For those who don't understand, no explanation is possible..."

The purpose of this page is to share my passion for the two wheel world and to report my "motard" experiences as well as some of my motorcycle tours and rides.

My full name is Pedro Le Velly de Sousa Lima (the Portuguese have long names ...) but, due to my Mother's French origin, I'm better known as Pierre.

I'm an economist. I was born at Rosário, Lagoa Village, S. Miguel island, Azores, on October 27th, 1956. I did my studies at The Azores University.

I'm married to Elisa, have two children - André (who owns a Honda Transalp) and Marie - and I live Ponta Delgada, São Miguel island's capital.

Currently I own a Yamaha FJR 1300 AE (YCC-S), but it isn’t easy living in a 760 square kilometre island when you own such a bike. This great touring bike makes the island feel smaller. That’s why every year I ship my FJR from the Azores to mainland Europe to take some large tours, trying to find the space and horizons my beautiful island unfortunately can’t offer me. In 2001 I went to Greece - Corfu riding a rented Honda Pan-European. Last year I travelled 9.000 km from Lisbon to Budapest and back, going through 8 European countries in 3 weeks. This year I made another 10.859 km tour from Lisbon to Kristiansund, in Norway, and back, passing by yet another 9 countries. In 2004 we went to Italy, visiting Rome and Sardinia, a shorter 2 week trip of about 6.000 km only. Last year we had a fantastic 4.700 mi trip to Croatia, visiting Slovenia, and Dubrovnik. On past June 2006 we headed for the Austrian Alps for yet another memorable 4.500 (7.200 km) trip.

It may sound silly to someone living on a continent but you can’t imagine the pleasure I get from riding a whole day in Europe, covering more than 1.000 kilometres, without seeing the sea !
