My Garmin Zumo 550 GPS installation

After the excellent experience that I had with my previous Street Pilot 2610, I could only change it for a new Garmin GPS. Thus, after a careful evaluation of this manufacturer new models, my final choice went to the new Zumo 550, Garmin's first motorcycle fully designed GPS.

The Zumo's new functionalities and design, including the left-handed buttons and a glove-friendly large touch screen for easy operation, the mp3 player to listen to your favorite songs while riding, the Bluetooth-enabled helmet/headset and cell phone to make hand-free calls, compensates the reduction of some other nice functions available in my previous Street Pilot (trip average speeds, altitude information, etc.). Aniway and without a shadow of doubt, the Zumo is a great value for money GPS.

The GPS is fully integrated with the FJR front panel

I used my previous FJR 1300 specific Techmount support (ref. 10998), centrally placed, to install the GPS cradle, which includes the audio input and output plugs as well as the battery power connection cable, originally provided with the new Zumo.

I also bought an input / output audio cable (ref. 1299), to connect the GPS to my Autocom Super Pro-Avi intercom system.
