Because I was tired of E-52 top-case too large and much round style, I decided to buy a more angular SH48 top-case for my new FJR 1300 AE. Although smaller (48 liters), it has a capacity for two full-sized helmets.
The overall quality is a little lower than GIVI but SHAD’s top-case price, including the standard bottom rack, is also much cheaper than the GIVI one. The standard bottom rack, which is available for 2006 model already, is also very easy to install in the FJR.
The SHAD case has a highly reliable two-way locking system and a double profile join guaranteeing complete waterproof and low noise when riding in an irregular pavement.
This is my second SHAD SH48 top case (I sold the first along my previous 2003 FJR). I already rode many thousand kilometers with it fully loaded, in my long Europe trips, and never had any problem at all.
